3 Types of Readers and How to Support Them

Throughout my teaching career I noticed there were 3 different type of readers that often needed special help.

The types of readers are:

  1. The Reluctant Reader
  2. The Struggling Reader
  3. The Advanced Reader

Here are the topics you can expect to see with each type of reader.

  1. The Reluctant Reader
    1. Think about yourself as a reader
    2. Think about the environment
    3. Think about book choices
  2. The Struggling Reader
    1. Think about development
    2. Think about at home activities
    3. Think about motivation
  3. The Advanced Reader
    1. Think about book choices
    2. Think about boredom
    3. Think about other activities

What type of reader are you most excited to read about?
